My contribution

Software Engineer · Browser extension & desktop

Built the extension, Electron companion, shared TypeScript contracts, and setup website. Connected browser media discovery to persistent desktop jobs and local media engines. Distributed as an independent preview with unsigned desktop builds; broader platform and site compatibility validation is ongoing.

Engineering approach

Browser to desktop

A Manifest V3 extension discovers media in page elements and network activity. Native Messaging connects it to an Electron companion through shared TypeScript contracts and runtime validation.

Persistent local workflows

SQLite stores desktop jobs independently of browser tabs. Direct HTTP recovery checks source validators; yt-dlp and FFmpeg handle supported extraction and processing workflows locally.

Explicit boundaries

Site sessions require per-origin consent and are temporary. Private jobs skip persisted history. Protected sources are rejected, and preview distribution is clearly separated from full platform certification.

Core features

  • Media discovery from page elements and browser network activity
  • Source inspection, video/audio track selection, and playlist queues
  • Persistent desktop jobs, queue controls, and recovery for supported direct downloads
  • Local audio extraction, conversion, trimming, and supported live recording
  • Per-site session consent, private jobs, and history controls
  • For media users are authorized to save; DRM and access-control bypass are unsupported
